Valley Care Foundation gives close to $400,000 to local nonprofits serving older adults
The Valley Care Foundation has awarded close to $400,000 in grants to nine nonprofit organizations that enhance the lives of older adults in the greater Sewickley Valley area.
“VCF is unique in our vision, which is to have a community where our elders — our mothers, our fathers and friends — not only receive care and support, but thrive in their communities,” said Arlene Bell, Vice President/Secretary of the Valley Care Foundation.
“I’ve worked in community health programs for many years and I’ve seen the growing need to support our senior population. Where government programs end, that is where foundations pick up and address societal issues and problems.”
